ERRANT HUNTER SOUL ARMOR CRAFTING GUIDE + COMPENDIUM

Hello fellow Hunters, welcome to my blog. I’ve made this compendium because I love the crafting system so much. There’s so much intricacies, etc. I’ve compiled all the set benefits/stats etc. I’ve also sprinkled in some of my learnings. It’s currently a (long) work in progress but I hope this helps please enjoy.

FOR NEWBIES before reading the stuff below. I suggest you watch my guide on the ‘Basics’ of crafting to understand what I’m talking about. This is not your typical MMO and might be confusing for some.

For veterans, you may skip if you want.

DEFINITION OF TERMS (WIP)

  • Main Stat – is the ability with the highest increase among all the other stats. Equivalent to +20 on a Evolved lvl 70 full Set.
  • Sub Stat 1 – is the ability with the second highest increase among all the other stats. Equivalent to +15 on a Evolved lvl 70 Full Set.
  • Sub Stat 2 – is the ability with the third highest increase among all other stats. Only available on Lvl 50 and above equips. Equivalent to +10 on a Evolved lvl 70 Full Set.
  • Sub Stat 3A – is the ability with the lowest stat increase among all the other stats. Only available on Lvl 70 and above equips. Equivalent to +3 on a Evolved lvl 70 Full Set.
  • Sub Stat 3B – is the ability with the second lowest stat increase among all the other stats. Only available on Lvl 70 and above equips. Equivalent to + 6 on a Evolved lvl 70 Full Set.
  • Neg Stat – is the Negative Stat effect of an armor set.

ARMOR STAT DISTRIBUTION

Each Armor piece distribute their additional stat points differently. Please refer to the table blow. It shows the stat distribution at Lvl 70 and above equipment.

STATS RELATED TO CRITICAL

When you hear the word critical, the first thing that people will tell you is PRECISION, PRECISION, GASH, GASH while I do agree that this is the basic stat and looks appealing, there is more to the critical that those 2 stats.

PRECISION (10/15/25/25/30/35/40)

  • Max effect: Crit Chance Increases by 24%
  • Note: Uses too much points for small returns, each Tier only unlocks additional 3%. Easily replaceable with Critical Chance Blood Stones. At full bone Fiend you get +20 which is like at 12% only you would need four (4) level 3 Aztatoth Hunter Soul to reach 40 or a very expensive ring. Best is just leave at 20.

10 Crit Chance Increases by 6%
15 Crit Chance Increases by 9%
20 Crit Chance Increases by 12%
25 Crit Chance Increases by 15%
30 Crit Chance Increases by 18%
35 Crit Chance Increases by 21%
40 Crit Chance Increases by 24%

GASH (10/15/20/25/30/35/40)

  • Max effect: Crit Damage Increases by 24%
  • Note:  It’s a pretty decent 5-6% per tier. It’s pretty worth getting because it starts at a pretty high number. Just take note that Stigma and Weapon Mastery comes to play later on so I would say 25 Gash would be a good number because it’s value diminishes from there.

10 Crit Damage Increases by 12%
15 Crit Damage Increases by 18%
20 Crit Damage Increases by 24%
25 Crit Damage Increases by 30%

OMEN (10/15/20/25/30)

  • Max effect: after launching 3 attacks w/o triggering crit activates 100% crit chance and 15% Crit Damage.
  • Note: Most applicable when equipping weapons with negative Critical Percentage.
  • Sources: Thunder Gargoyle (Sub2), Horned Beast Seat (Sub1) and Tsukuyo (Nature) Hunter Soul.
10 After Launching 8 consecutive attacks w/o triggering critical attack, the crit chance of next attack is 100%
15 After Launching 6 consecutive attacks w/o triggering critical attack, the crit chance of next attack is 100%
20 After Launching 4 consecutive attacks w/o triggering critical attack, the crit chance of next attack is 100%
25 After Launching 4 consecutive attacks w/o triggering critical attack, the crit chance of next attack is 100% and Critical Damage increased by 10%
30 After Launching 3 consecutive attacks w/o triggering critical attack, the crit chance of next attack is 100% and Critical Damage increased by 15%

MORALE (10/20)

  • Max effect: after launching 3 minutes activate additional 15% Crit Chance & Crit Damage. Resets when you die.
  • Note: Pretty decent stat in my opinion, essentially you get permanent Crit Chance & Damage boost if you don’t die 3 minutes into the hunt and beyond. But if you plan to go for a speed run this is probably worthless to you because you don’t get to capitalize any of it’s benefits after 3 minutes.

10 Critical Chance & Critical Damage Increase by 1.5% every 30 seconds up to 6 times and decreases by 1 layer when defeated (killed). Note: Max of 9% Crit Chance and Crit Dmg Increase in 3 minutes Maximum
20 Critical Chance & Critical Damage Increase by 2.5% every 30 seconds up to 6 times and decreases by 1 layer when defeated (killed). Note: Max of 15% Crit Chance and Crit Dmg Increase in 3 minutes Maximum

FAMINE (10/20)

  • Max effect: When endurance is below 30%, Crit Chance increases by 15% Crit Damage increases by 30%
  • Note: Good for Bow with Lightning Storm weapon mastery (since it eats a vast amount of endurance). Famine + Frenzy + Lightning Storm is a deadly combo for bow when all is maxed.
  • Sources: Rainbow Dragon (Sub1[+15]), Inferno Dragon (Sub3B[+6]), Thunder Gargoyle (Sub3A[+3]), Brishma (Holy) Hunter Soul and Nyx (Dark – Mutant) Hunter Soul.
10 When endurance is below 20%,  Crit Chance increases by 7% Crit Damage increases by 15%
20 When endurance is below 30%,  Crit Chance increases by 15% Crit Damage increases by 30%

DECEIT (10/15/25)

  • Max effect:  When attacking enemies from the back Crit Chance increases by 20%
  • Sources: Holy Dragon (Sub2[+10]), Scarlet Scorpion (Sub3A[+3]), and Megaera (Nature) Hunter Soul.
10 When attacking enemies from the back Crit Chance increases by 10%
15 When attacking enemies from the back Crit Chance increases by 15%
20 When attacking enemies from the back Crit Chance increases by 20%

HORMONE (10/20)

  • Max effect:  Critical Chance increase by 12% when there is an opposite sex, in the team.
  • Sources: Grizzlord (Sub1[+15]), Scarlet Scorpion (Sub3B[+6]), Ash Dragon (Sub3A[+3] and Ctugha (Mystic) Hunter Soul.
10 Critical Chance increase by 6% when there is an opposite sex, in the team.
20 Critical Chance increase by 12% when there is an opposite sex, in the team

CRITICAL STAT COMPARISON

  • Note for Omen (SPECIAL CASE) since you after you launch 8 consecutive attacks your next attack gets 100% critical so that’s 9 attacks in total and only one of them most likely crits. So I divided  1 / # of chances to get the percentage.
  • Most of the Stats say ‘increases’ meaning they stack over the existing Critical Damage stat prior to being triggered. But I think for Omen, I think critical chance and Omen-Critical Chance cancels each other out. Because if you crit prior to triggering omen it resets the count for omen back to 0. So if you keep criting without triggering anything it’s pretty useless and it’s hard to tell either way which Proc your normal CC or Omen CC?

CONCLUSION

  • Want to improve your ‘Stackable Crit Chance’ your go to is Deceit (so long as you back door)
  • Want to improve your ‘Stackable Crit Chance and Crit Damage’ your go to is Famine with the expense of Endurance or Morale.
  • Want to improve your ‘Stackable Crit Chance’ only option is Gash
  • You want to use Negative % Crit Weapon, Use Omen it cancels that out since it does not stack with current crit chance but it is it’s own unique variable. Not recommended for high Crit Chance users.
